The kind of place you want to be a part of.
Nearly 20 years ago, Gradient Financial Group got its start in a garage in Topeka, Kansas. Since then, the company has developed and grown by embracing the philosophy that when you work here, you’re family.
What does that mean?
It means your career — and your future — matter to us.
Years in Business
A Commitment to Culture
We’ve grown a lot during our nearly 20 years in business, and while we’ve created new companies and technologies and added plenty of new employees, one thing has remained constant — our commitment to culture.
We know that emphasizing an engaging and rewarding culture is one of the biggest reasons we’re successful.
But we also know that culture isn’t static — it has to be cultivated in a way that embraces change and improvement.
That’s where our employees come in. The Gradient crew sets the tone. When you work here, you’re expected to produce great work, but you’re also going to laugh a lot and enjoy your co-workers.
Living Our Values
At Gradient, we share a set of core values that motivate us and guide our work. Every Gradient employee is part of the team because they demonstrate these values every day.
Show up ready to play.
We show up on time, focused and prepared to do our best work.
Win the day.
Attitude is everything. We care about what we do and how we do it.
We consistently look for a new and better way. We do the right thing the right way.
We're in this together. We take the time to celebrate our accomplishments.
Take it to done.
Excellence is expected. We take action and find a way to move things forward.
Community is key. We support each other, give back, and leave plenty of room for fun.
It all starts with the mission that’s guided us from day one: Connecting you to a confident financial future. While that motto is deliberately broad, the fact is that when we say you, we mean our employees, the financial services professionals we partner with, and the clients those financial services professionals serve every day.
Working for the Gradient Financial Group means you’re working for a company that strives to help people develop financial means and strategies to achieve the things they care about most: retirement, a child’s college education, a dream vacation, a family cabin that can be handed down from generation to generation, and many more.
No matter what you do here at Gradient, you’re making a genuine difference in the financial lives of thousands of people.
Craft your flight plan.
Whether you take flight at our Minnesota or Kansas office, Gradient is committed to helping you reach your career’s maximum altitude. We’re proud of our track record of helping our employees reach their potential in their chosen field while also helping them explore other parts of our company and industry. We’re committed to our people in a way that truly shows that at Gradient, the sky really is the limit.
Community is Key
Our sense of camaraderie runs so deep ... many employees organize their own happy hours, birthday parties and weekend get-togethers. Plus, a fully-stocked game room with a pool table, ping-pong table and pop-a-shot surely doesn't hurt! And like most midwesterners, we take full advantage of our summer months. Our green space becomes home to our annual corn hole tournaments, hot dog eating contests, a charity-driven fun run, and so much more!
It's no surprise that the culture of togetherness extends beyond our employees. Our clients know our employees by name. We aren’t just a voice over the phone, or a name attached to an email. We’re real people helping real people. And it’s those genuine relationships that give our clients the confidence that we’re as committed to their business and their future as they are.
When you combine our belief in powerful relationships with a diverse portfolio of products and services like insurance products, investment advisory services, asset management, securities, marketing services, compliance, financial case support and legacy planning — well, you have a company that’s running full steam ahead into a successful and lasting future.
The Gradient Social Committee, comprised of employees from different departments throughout the company, works hard to design special events like monthly food days, a holiday party, fun competitions like the annual hotdog eating contest, and impactful community service projects like meal packing.
While we’re driven to provide an unrivaled level of support to the financial services professionals we serve, we also foster and encourage a culture that embraces camaraderie, laughter, and meaningful work-life balance.
Time, Talents and Treasures (3T)
Our Time, Talents, and Treasures (3T) team consists of a diverse group of our team members and was created to ensure our employees feel empowered to share their experiences and ideas. The 3T team is dedicated to identifying diverse opportunities that help our employees give their time, talents, and treasures to local organizations and causes.
In that spirit, we also provide employees with volunteer time off “VTO” to participate in community engagement opportunities.
Gradient Gives Back Foundation
Gradient Gives Back Foundation is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization that supports the Gradient Gives Back Community Outreach Program and devotes its resources to assisting Americans. Born in the wake of the 2008 financial crises, the Foundation strives to help American families who are at risk of losing their homes and seeks to unite communities by inspiring Americans for the purpose of charitable giving.
Benefits and Perks for Your Journey
Our employees dedicate over 2,000 hours of their lives to their work each year. Gradient is committed to providing benefits that help employees live well.
Health and Wellbeing:
Take Care of You
Gradient offers comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage through UHC Medical. The UHC Health and Wellness Plan benefits include a wide range of programs to help you reach your health goals.
At Gradient, giving you time away from work to recharge is part of the investment we make in you as an employee. You will accrue a minimum of 160 hours of Paid Time Off each year and receive nine paid holidays. The company also offers paid maternity leave and a flexible work model providing opportunities for telecommuting, remote work and summer hours.
Life and Disability Insurance:
Backup When You Need It
Gradient understands the security that comes with knowing that you and your loved ones will be provided for in the event of injury or death. Gradient offers company-paid long-term disability insurance that covers up to 60% of an employee's salary up to $4,000 per month. Company-paid life insurance offers two times an employee's salary up to $100,000. Supplemental policies are also available for additional security.
Build Your Nest Egg
Saving for retirement is crucial and no one understands this better than Gradient. That is why our employees are eligible for a 401(k). Gradient matches fifty percent of your 401(k) contributions up to the first six percent of each paycheck – that's up to $3,000 per year. We value your service, which is why we offer competitive salaries to all of our employees.
Make an Impact:
Volunteer, Vote, Contribute
We know that you care. Gradient cares too. That's why we offer eight hours of Volunteer Time Off each year so that you can support a charitable cause that's dear to you, or to participate in civic engagement. We offer paid time off for voting so that you can go to the polls at a convenient time. Additionally, our 3T Team works to build a company culture in which we can talk about our diversity, embrace different approaches and points of view and show our communities that we support them.
Work AND Play
Who says work can't be fun too? At Gradient, we invite our employees to participate in social activities that take place throughout the year, such as monthly lunches, an annual fun run, the yearly holiday party, hot dog eating contest, outdoor grilling and so much more!
Grow Your Career:
Reach New Heights
Gradient proudly fosters a culture of promoting from within and is committed to helping you reach the highest altitudes of success. With comprehensive position descriptions and career maps to guide you on your flight plan, you'll have access to everything you need to reach your career goals.
Calling Out Excellence
One of the tenets we hold dear is "Celebrating Successes." When you go above and beyond, you deserve recognition, which is why we created recognition tools that make it easy for your peers and our clients to call attention to your hard work. These call-outs provide the opportunity for gift certificates, company swag and the chance to attend our Gradient Summit event.
Bring Your Friends
We've found some of our best recruits by tapping into our employees' networks. We encourage you to refer friends or family who might be a good fit for Gradient. If we hire your referral and they stay onboard for 90 days, you will be eligible to receive a $500 bonus.
